Step 1 Remove the Threshold
- Remove the threshold from the bottom of the pet door frame.
Step 2 Remove the Retainer Clip
- Remove the retainer clip from the flap.
Step 3 Install the Flap Magnets
- Add the additional magnet in one of the slots in the bottom of the flap and put the retainer bottom back on.
- Make sure the retainer bottom is pushed all the way up so that the molded nubs are sticking through the cut out in the retainer clip.
Step 4 Locate the Wrapped Magnet
- Take the magnet that is wrapped and stick it onto the bottom of the flap so that it is attracting to the one that you just inserted into the flap.
Step 5 Install the Wrapped Magnet into Threshold
- Slide the wrapped magnet into the threshold.
- Use a pencil to push it into the threshold so that when the threshold is installed back in to the frame the new magnet will line up with the one in the flap.
- You can easily gauge how far to push the magnet by using the pencil to measure.
Step 6 Reinstall the Threshold
- Push the threshold back into the frame.

I got my first endura doggie door in 2013, XL 2 flaps door mount, after using the ones from big box stores that were a joke..these pet doors are solid and last and extremely air tight.. we've had 60 mph wind gust and they stayed shut perfectly... zero concern of snakes or anything pushing through it...my 2013 one has had 3 large dogs use it constantly for 10 years and it still works like new... the new 2023 one doesn't have as strong magnetics, I believe, unless I'm not adjusting it?, but the 2023 one that I just got is very strong as well, regardless.. I'd only buy these from now on and will never go back to the big box doggie doors..these are worth every dime and will pay for themselves in energy savings over the years.. the big box store one will push open with the smallest wind and run your heating/Cooling bill through the roof... these endura ones will pay for themselves... I got these new one for my 2nd house...

I have had the Endura Flap dog door for 4-5 years. With two dogs running in and out through the door daily over that time the bottom of the door eventually got so worn the magnets kept falling out the bottom. I put them back together a few times before losing several magnets. I ordered the Magnet Kit from Endura Flap as replacements. After putting the new magnets in I drilled holes in the flap and used "post screws to hold the bottom of the door sides together so the magnets would stop falling out. Now it works as good as new. We live in the mountains of Colorado with cold and wind from October through May and this door stays shut, closes and seals well, and keeps the cold out...period. The best dog door I have ever owned!
